Carrie Fewins is one of the UK's rising actor-directors. Still in her early twenties, she has acted in many productions, most recently taking lead roles in the Castle Theatre Company's national tours of Taming of the Shrew (Katherina, 2005) and As You Like It (Rosalind, 2006). She has also played Ophelia in Hamlet (2005) and the Duchess of York in Richard III (2003).

During 2005 Carrie adapted, produced, directed and designed the sell-out show Woyzeck by Georg Buchner, as well as assistant directing W;t by Margaret Edson and The Homecoming by Harold Pinter, all to high critical acclaim.

In 2006, she choreographed the Howard Goodall musical The Dreaming and adapted the Da Ponte/Mozart opera The Marriage of Figaro, performed by Act Provocateur in The Lion and Unicorn Theatre in Feb 2007. Most recently, in 2007, she stage managed for Act Provocateur's adaptation of Beckett's First Love at the Prague Fringe Theatre Festival and production managed for Chris Loveless' production of Normal by Anthony Neilson, performed at the Greenwich Playhouse.

Carrie trained at Durham University, gaining an honours music degree, where she was also involved in directing and choreographing an opera called Songs of Love and War, also co-composing it alongside Dr Martyn Harry. This was performed at The Sage Theatre in Gateshead and The Gala Theatre in Durham.
